Since this is February 13, here are a few paragraphs from the start of Chapter 13 of Unplanned, a suspense novel featuring Kennedy Stern.
She had never experienced complete silence until now. Her ears were ringing with it. Her mind waited for something – a shout, a yell, the horrifying pop of gunfire.
She reached up and touched her blindfold again, half expecting Dustin or the older man to grab her wrist and stop her.
“Hello?” The sound of her own whisper sent goose bumps shivering up her spine. She thought of her high school psychology class, how people could actually lose their mind from sensory deprivation. Was that what this was?
Random Fact: My favorite class in high school was advanced biology. What was yours?
