One of the things I've really enjoyed about my Agent Ko series is it's spy/thriller and really hard core at times, but there's also the chance to investigate some of Ko's deeper relationships with the other students at the Academy. This is a conversation between her and her roommate, Chun-Hee.
Ko shook her head. “That’s ridiculous.”
Chun-Hee’s voice kept its calm tone. “That’s exactly what I told him you’d say. You’ll understand one of these days, though. You’re gonna meat a guy, and …” She paused when she saw Ko’s face. “Don’t look so insulted. Biology’s bound to catch up with you eventually. And then you and Mr. Wonderful are going to say all kinds of ridiculous things to each other, things you never would have dreamed of saying in your right mind right now.”
She relaxed her pose. “You really are lucky. You know that, don’t you?”
Ko didn’t answer.
“Anyway, just remember what I said. When it happens to you, you’ll understand.”
Random Fact: My husband and I conversed by phone and email for over a year before we met face to face.
