Ok, it's a little embarrassing to admit. Scott and I have been married since 2004, we've got what I'd call a very close and loving relationship, and I consider him my biggest source of emotional support and encouragement when it comes to my novel writing.
But he's never read a single one of my books.
But hold it. Don't form an angry mob quite yet. There's actually a very compelling reason why Scott hasn't picked up any of my novels.
It's because my husband is an audiobook junkie.
I'm serious. Scott was subscribing to Audible way back in the dinosaur days before iPods or smartphones. When he was a bi-vocational pastor (working a full-time job in addition to serving at the church), Scott could breeze through a hundred hours of audiobook listening a month during his commute in busy Anchorage traffic.
Whenever I put a new title out on Audible, Scott's the first to know about it (and usually among the first to download). Now that we're in rural Alaska, he gets most of his audiobook fix in while he's hauling water so our sink and toilet and washing machine run.
Want to know what I mean when I talk about hauling water? Want to "meet" my husband in the flesh (or at least watch him on video or hear his voice)? Scott is our guest for this week's episode of the Prevailing Prayer Podcast and is talking with us about praying for your pastor. Watch or listen here!
