Happy Wednesday, everybody. What have you been up to this week? I've been working on edits for Unplanned, my first US-based suspense novel. I hope to dish it out to a second round of betas by the end of the week.
In the meantime, I've been mentally outlining some of Ko's story. For today's WIPpet, here are 18 sentences in honor of February 18. Meet Ko's friend Chun-Hee, another female agent-in-training; and Tae, who has the honor of being the first to demonstrate his fighting skills for the class.
"So you've studied?" The director raised one bushy eyebrow and strained his neck from one side to the other, popping several cervical vertebrae in the process.
Tae took off his shirt.
"Nice," Chun-Hee whispered in Ko’s ear.
Tae stood with his legs apart in an awkward crouch. He held his arms out to either side.
The director rolled his arms in large backward circles. "What do you plan to do? Hug me to death?"
Chun-Hee chuckled under her breath. "He could hug me."
Ko bit her lip and tried to will away the fluttering in the pit of her stomach.
"Let's go." As soon the words left the director's mouth, Tae rushed forward, leading with his fists. The director dropped down to his knee and caught him around the waist.
"What?" It was the only word Tae managed to utter the entire fight.
Random Fact: As I write this, my kids are outside where my oldest is giving his younger brothers ninja lessons. Occasionally, my 4-year-old comes in to do some push-ups. Other than that, I am interruption-free!
