Something really neat happened tonight. I've been stuck on something in my Kennedy book for a few days now. It's a crime mystery, and I didn't realize until now how hard it is to keep coming up with good reasons for a college student like Kennedy to be right smack involved in the center of a police investigation like she needs to be.
I took a few days off Kennedy to edit another project while I let that problem simmer in the back of my head. Today I finished edits ... but still no answer. I sent out an emergency prayer request email, went out to milk the goat, and within two minutes of turning on my computer had a solution for the particular plot hole I was in. I've been in tough writing situations before (some much tougher than this), but tonight was the first time it was so very apparent that God was giving me the direct answer to my specific problem. And actually the resolution was very simple.
I'm just glad to be moving ahead again with this project! And since it's late and my wrists are tired, I'll leave you with one short teaser and call it a night.
“Oh, speaking of Harvard …”
Kennedy tried to hide her confusion. When had they been speaking of Harvard?
“I know you’re probably going to be really busy this semester, and I totally understand, but I wanted to ask you something. And you’re totally welcome to say no, it’s not like it’s going to hurt my feelings or anything, but well, I’ve been thinking about it for a while now, and I’ve been wanting to find a chance to ask you all night if you’d …”
... And then comes the interruption I was trying so hard to figure out.
