Happy Wednesday, friends! I hope you're all having a fabulous week. Now is the time for me to resurrect (and conquer) my Ko series once and for all. This character has given me plenty of problems in the past, but you know what? No more!
For today's WIPpet Wednesday post, here's a short snippet from book 2 in my Agent Ko series. Please note: This series is much more graphic and violent than my others. It's still PG-13, but it's more like a Hunger Games PG-13 and not like an Avengers PG-13. The following segment is not for the squeamish. No hurt feelings at all if you decide not to read. (Hint: it doesn't get any worse than the first line.)
“Do you know what a man’s brain feels like, sissy-foot?”
Here the director jabbed a finger into the largest recruit’s chest. Tae shook his head. “No, sir.” His voice was far too loud, far too confident for this kind of conversation. “But I can’t wait to find out.” A smile streaked across his face, seasoning his words.
Chun-Hee leaned in toward Ko’s ear. “Is it me, or has all this training made him even tastier?” She eyed Tae’s wide frame.
The director spoke from someplace low in the back of his throat. “It’s slippery. And soft. Softer than your mama ...”
Tae lunged forward, but the director had already stepped back. Instead of wrapping his arms around the director’s chest like he planned, Tae fell forward and grasped his leg. The director dropped to one knee and straddled Tae’s back.
Chun-Hee gave a small chuckle. “There he goes again.”
So there's Ko. Maybe now you can see why she's given me so much trouble in the past. Wish me luck as I whip her into shape once and for all.
